The President gave us his state of the union speech. http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/remarks-president-state-union-address In more than an hours worth of speechifying there were so many self contradictions that my head was spinning. Worst of all, our President seems unaware that he was self contradicting. The zenith of this is when he breeches decorum by directly attacking the Supreme Court for, in his opinion, opening the flood gates of foreign money in elections. This is horrifying considering he eschewed public finance of his own election so he could raise unprecedented amounts money, some of which came over the internet from questionable sources. Of course in a speech of this size there was a rhetorical flourish for everyone. I do know that the President was speaking about me when he spoke of those that, “…share a stubborn resilience in the face of adversity. After one of the most difficult years in our history, they remain busy…” For my part, I am busy making signs for the next Tea Party Rally.
